The American healthcare system is complicated. 88% of US adults cite difficulties navigating the healthcare system. The good news is patient advocacy became a covered benefit by Medicare in 2024. Understood Care matches Medicare patients with a healthcare personal assistant (known as a Patient Advocate) at little to no cost to the patient. Patient Advocates help patients patients access care - finding resources, helping fill out paperwork, and much more. Understood Care uses AI and healthcare expertise to deliver the highest quality patient advocacy to the 68 million Medicare patients in the US.
